Monica is the Managing Director of Stimulus Private Equity and also an Executive of Pointbreak. She is the Chairperson of several boards in both the public and private sector and has directorships that span different sectors. She has served on numerous bodies such as the President’s Economic Advisory Council and the National Council of the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the mandate to provide high-level advice on national policy formulation and implementation.
She has received numerous merit awards including the Namibia Chamber of Commerce award as the 'Namibian business personality of the year', and the 'Most Innovative Entrepreneur’ award from the University of Potchefstroom (South Africa).
Monica is a member of the Crans Montana Forum of Global Young Leaders and a recipient of the Fortune 500 Global Women’s Mentoring Programme. She has been inducted into the Namibian Business Hall of Fame.
Chief Operating Officer
After completing his articles at PWC, John joined (what was then) Boland Bank and then Mettle, where he gained experience in treasury, risk management, corporate finance and management of unlisted investments.
John is a founding member of Pointbreak, which he joined on a full time basis in 2003. He was responsible for Pointbreak's Cape Town operations. With three daughters and a son, John and Susan treasure spending time together, especially at places where one experiences the true value of nature. John also loves his sport, whether it is playing golf, cricket, surfing or mountain biking.
Chief Financial Officer (Executive Director)
Gerald is a Chartered Accountant and currently serves as Chief Operating Officer of EBank. Gerald completed his audit articles at PwC Namibia. After his articles, he joined PwC’s Tax Department where he progressed to the position of Associate Director and headed the Corporate and International Tax Division. Gerald joined Pointbreak during 2007. In his position as Group Finance Director he was responsible for overseeing the finance function of Pointbreak’s Namibian and South African operations. His duties included risk management, IT, governance, financial reporting and financial strategy. Gerald further assumed overall responsibility for Pointbreak’s Asset Management division.
Gerald took on the challenge of establishing the EBank dream and was directly involved in the task of setting up the initial banking model and submitting the applications for the banking license.
Gerald’s qualifications include a B.Com (Cum Laude), B.Compt (Hons), CA (Nam / SA) and an Adv Cert. VAT.
Head of Sales and Distribution
Before joining EBank, Bronwen headed up the Innovation and Brand Team at Lightstone, a data and analytics company based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Prior to joining Lightstone in 2009, Bronwen spent time 6 years at McKinsey and Company, an international management consulting firm, where she worked across a range of industries and sectors. Her work at McKinsey included consumer research, strategy and organisational restructure, operations improvement, and procurement at a variety of retail, consumer goods, petroleum and energy clients.
Bronwen holds a BSc in Biochemistry and Zoology and Honours in Cell Biology and Human Genetics, completed at the University of Cape Town. She completed her schooling at St Pauls College in Windhoek (Namibia).
Brand and Marketing Manager
Jerry has 18 years of experience in marketing in various sectors including fast moving consumer goods, stock broking, media and advertising consulting. He has previously worked for Bank Windhoek and Namibia Breweries Limited. He enjoys social media, loves reading and is a social debating enthusiast and news and media addict. Formula 1 racing, soccer and marketing are his life's passion.
Head of Risk and Compliance
Buks (B.Acc., B.Acc (Hons), CA (Nam/SA), CIA) joined Pointbreak during 2014 as Group Financial Director and serves on the Board of Pointbreak Group Holdings Namibia. Buks joined Pointbreak from Capricorn Investment Holdings where he was Head of Corporate Audit Services. Prior to that, Buks was an Associate Director at PricewWaterhouseCoopers. Buks is responsible for managing the Human Resources, Risk, Compliance and IT portfolios of the Group, including EBank.
Senior Manager: Operations & IT
Allvan has been part of the EBank startup from 2014. Allvan is
responsible for all in house IT projects, Service Centres and managing EBank's
third-party vendors and service providers. Allvan played a pivotal role in the
establishment of EBank, setting up EBank's MasterCard debit card solution and
managing new payment industry projects and implementations. Before joining
EBank, Allvan was a Core Banking Manager at FNB Namibia, in which role he was
part of the many projects bound to FNB Namibia including Localization of FNB
Systems in 2009. Allvan has certifications in IT, Service and Project
Management, Payments systems and recently completed the University of Stellenbosch Senior Management Development
Programme. He is currently pursuing a B.Hons Business Management which is due
for completion by the end of 2017.
Senior Manager: Payment Streams
Stephen joined EBank in 2015 after spending 10 years working in the UK, most recently at Visa Europe in various roles in implementation, project management and service transition management. He has worked in the card payments industry since 2002 and started his career at Bank Windhoek.
Stephen holds a B.Com (Information Systems) from the University of Cape Town, and enjoys cycling and the outdoors.
Aretha joined EBank on the 7 September 2015 as Client Relationship manager. Previously she was part of the Pointbreak Wealth Management team for 14 years.
She enjoys cycling, jogging, camping and spending time with her three children.
Mario holds a National Certificate in IT and a Bachelor IT in Business Computing from Polytechnic of Namibia, a Certificate in Foundational Payments from Payments Association of Namibia, Certificate in Fundamental Accounting and Consumer Credit and a Certificate in Microsoft SharePoint Ender-User Training. He completed his schooling at Nuuyoma SS School in Oshakati (Namibia). He enjoys time out with his family, enjoying soccer and socialising and has an interest in software technology. He has various hobbies but favours sports (playing and watching soccer). He loves to take part in debates.
Tanya holds a BCompt degree from Unisa, Diploma in Financial Information Systems, Advance Credit Diploma from IOB and Certificate in Business Accounting from CIMA. She is unmarried, has no children just a very spoiled cat. She enjoys reading, cross-word puzzles, soduku and gardening - and loves chocolate.
Office Administrator and Marketing Assistant
Silke joined EBank as Office Administrator and Marketing Assistant in February 2015. Prior to joining EBank she worked at Cymot (Pty) Ltd as Personal Assistant to the Managing Director and then as Marketing Executive for the company. She holds diplomas in PA and certificates in Marketing and Secretarial Studies.
Business Relationship Manager
Veikko holds a B. Tech (Business Administration), from the Polytechnic of Namibia and is busy with a Bachelor of Economics also at the Polytechnic of Namibia. He completed his schooling at Eengedjo Secondary School in Omungwelume (Namibia). He is married to Rauna, also from Namibia and has a daughter. He enjoys time out in the gym and has an interest in people and wants to understand what motivates them. He loves to assist them wherever he can.
Rino has 12 years banking experience. She joined FNB Namibia after she matriculated from Tucsin and worked in various departments. As a result of her unique leadership skills. she was promoted into a senior position spearheading the tellers department where she stayed for 3 years until she joined EBank as Workplace Business Sales Manager. In this role, she is responsible for promoting and selling EBank in the workplace environment. Rino likes interacting with people from different ethnic groups and Namibia with its diverse cultures is her absolute favorite destination. She is passionate about people and life itself.
Payment Stream Support Analyst
Trisha just completed her advanced diploma in Banking, finance and credit at the Namibian institute of Bankers, she matriculated from Kuisebmund Secondary School (Walvis Bay). She has a passion for life, loves travelling,eating Ice cream and going on excursions. Among her many dreams she dreams of owning a Mustang 428 Cobra Jet.
